| VDR
The vitamin D receptor (VDR also known as the calcitriol receptor) is a member of the nuclear receptor family of transcription factors.[5] Calcitriol (the active form of vitamin D, 1,25-(OH)2vitamin D3) binds to VDR, which then forms a heterodimer with the retinoid-X receptor. The VDR heterodimer then enters the nucleus and binds to Vitamin D responsive elements (VDRE) in genomic DNA. VDR binding results in expression or transrepression of many specific gene products. VDR is also involved in microRNA-directed post transcriptional mechanisms. The vitamin D receptor is encoded by the VDR gene located on chromosome 12q13.11.| Typical data
As the OD values of the standard curve may vary according to the conditions of the actual assay performance (e.g. operator, pipetting technique, wash technique or temperature effects), the operator should establish a standard curve for each test. Typical standard curve and data are provided below for reference only.| Concentration (ng/mL) | 40 | 20 | 10 | 5 | 2.5 | 1.25 | 0.62 | 0 |
| OD | 2.22 | 1.56 | 0.92 | 0.63 | 0.42 | 0.25 | 0.18 | 0.08 |
| Corrected OD | 2.14 | 1.48 | 0.84 | 0.55 | 0.34 | 0.17 | 0.1 | - |
| Repeatability
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay):CV% < 10%; Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays):CV% < 10%| Recovery
The recovery of Human VDR spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.| Sample Type | Range(%) | Average Recovery(%) |

| Cell Lysates(n=8) | 92-105 | 102 |
| Linearity
Samples were spiked with high concentrations of Human VDR and diluted with Universal Diluent to produce samples with values within the range of the assay.| Tissue Homogenates(n=4) | Cell Lysates(n=4) | ||
